Johnny Depp merupakan anak dari John Christopher Depp, Sr. yang bekerja sebagai Teknisi Sipil dan Betty Sue Wells yang bekerja sebagai Pelayan, Johnny merupakan anak bungsu (terakhir) dari 4 bersaudara. Johnny pernah menjalin asmara dengan Winona Ryder, ia ialah aktris Hollywood yang merupakan lawan mainnya dalam film Edward's Scissorhand. Setelah korelasi mereka retak, Johnny mengencani Kate Moss yang berprofesi supermodel Inggris namun korelasi ini pun tidak bertahan. Johnny Depp Merupakan seorang pemain drama asal Amerika Serikat yang pernah dinominasikan dalam Academy Award. ia dijuluki pemain drama 1000 wajah karena kemahirannya memerankan beraneka ragam tokoh dengan abjad yang berbeda-beda. Trofi pertama yang ia dapatkan yaitu di ajang SAG Awards untuk kategori penampilan terbaik pemeran laki-laki tahun 2003.
