Red Sparrow merupakan film mata-mata bergenre thriller suspense yang digarap oleh Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) selaku sutradara dengan mengadaptasi dongeng dari novel karya seorang pensiunan biro CIA, Jason Matthews yang berjudul Red Sparrow di rilis pada tahun 2013. Pada film ini, alur ceritanya akan dikembangkan oleh Justin Haythe (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Lone Ranger) selaku penulis skenario.
Novel Red Sparrow adalah buku pertama dari The Red Trilogy dimana buku lainnya berjudul Palace of Treason di rilis pada tahun 2015 dan The Kremlin's Candidate yang dirilis tahun 2018 ini.
Film Red Sparrow diproduseri oleh Peter Chernin (War for the Planet of the Apes, The Greatest Showman), Steve Zaillian (Montezuma, The Irishman), Jenno Topping (Spy, Underwater) dan David Ready (The Mountain Between Us, Tolkien).
Selaku pihak rumah produksi film, Chernin Entertainment menghadirkan Jennifer Lawrence (Mother!, X-Men: Dark Phoenix) selaku bintang film utama dalam film ini. Turut serta pemain lainnya seperti, Joel Edgerton (Black Mass, Gringo), Matthias Schoenaerts (Sound of Metal, Kursk), Charlotte Rampling (Assassin’s Creed, The Little Stranger), Mary-Louise Parker (Golden Exits, Compliance) dan Jeremy Irons (Justice League, The Batman).
ini menjadi ketigakalinya Jennifer Lawrence dan Francis Lawrence bekerja sama sehabis seri The Hunger Games dan The Dive.
Film ini akan menceritakan perihal Dominika Egorova, seorang yang direkrut untuk menjadi Sparrow atau biro rahasia. Dominika memiliki banyak talenta, ia sangat berbakti terhadap orang tuanya dan bertekad untuk melindungi ibunya dengan segala cara. Dominika juga seorang balerina yang dapat mendorong badan dan pikirannya melampaui batas. Tak hanya itu saja, ia pun jago memanipulasi, menarik hati dan juga bertarung.
Selaku pendistributor, 20th Century Fox menjadwalkan Film Red Sparrow akan tayang pada awal bulan maret dengan tagline filmnya, "Seductive. Deceptive. Deadly."

Sinopsis Film Red Sparrow
Film Red Sparrow bercerita perihal Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence) yang direkrut untuk menjadi seorang Sparrow alias biro rahasia. Hal tersebut harus ia lakukan demi menebus pengobatan ibunya yang sedang sakit.
Setelah ia berhasil melalui serangkaian latihan keras di Sparrow School, sebuah kawasan inteligen diam-diam yang melatih belum dewasa muda luar biasa menyerupai Dominika. Targetnya yaitu biro CIA yang berada di Rusia, Nathaniel Nash (Joel Edgerton).
Namun kondisinya semakin rumit sebab Dominika ternyata jatuh cinta dengan Nathaniel. Mampukah Dominika menuntaskan misinya dan menyelamatkan ibunya? Temukan jawabannya di film Red Sparrow yang akan tayang dibulan Maret.
