Molly's Game merupakan film drama kriminal yang digarap oleh pemenang Golden Globe untuk film Steve Jobs (2015), Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball) selaku sutradara sekaligus penulis skenario dalam film ini.
Dengan budget pembuatan film sekitar $30 juta, film Molly's Game diproduseri oleh Mark Gordon (Murder on the Orient Express, Source Code 2), Amy Pascal (Spider-Man Homecoming, Venom) dan Matt Jackson (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Midway).
Film ini disesuaikan dari kisah kasatmata Molly Bloom yang diangkat kedalam buku autobiografi berjudul "molly's game: from hollywood's elite to wall street's billionaire boys club, my high-stakes adventure in the world of underground poker", karya Molly Bloom sendiri yang di rilis pada tahun 2014.
Molly Bloom sendiri ialah seorang atlit Ski yang sering mengikuti perlombaan Olimpiade kelas dunia. Namun disamping profesinya tersebut, Molly sering mengikuti permainan judi poker eksklusif kelas dunia dengan taruhan yang sangat tinggi. Hanya dengan mengikuti judi poker selama kurang dari 10 tahun, ia bisa menghasilkan uang jutaan dollar. Dalam buku biografinya disebutkan bahwa Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio dan Tobey Maguire ialah beberapa nama besar yang menjadi kliennya.
Jessica Chastain (Interstellar, X-Men Dark Phoenix) dipercaya untuk berperan sebagai "Putri Poker" Molly Bloom yang akan beradu akting dengan Idris Elba (The Dark Tower, Thor Ragnarok). Turut serta pemain lainnya menyerupai Kevin Costner (Criminal, Hidden Figures), Michael Cera (The Lego Batman Movie, Gloria), Brian d'Arcy James (Spotlight, First Man), Chris O'Dowd (Love After Love, Hippie Hippie Shake), J. C. MacKenzie (Can’t Have You, The Irishman) dan Bill Camp (The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Hostiles).
Didistribusi oleh STXfilms bersama rumah produksinya, Huayi Brothers Pictures, The Mark Gordon Company, Pascal Pictures dan Ciwen Pictures, Film Molly Game dijadwalkan akan tayang serentak pada awal bulan Januari 2018 dengan rating usia untuk Dewasa. Film Molly's Game bercerita perihal Molly Bloom (Jessica Chastain), perempuan muda dan anggun yang merupakan seorang atlit ski sekelas Olimpic. Namun ia jua dikenal menjalankan bisnis judi poker eksklusif dengan pasang taruhan paling tinggi di dunia. Pemainnya tentu saja para konglomerat kaya, artis dan bintang film Hollywood, pebisnis sukses, bintang olahraga dan tanpa sepengetahuannya, sindikat berandal Rusia.
Akan tetapi bisnisnya tersebut tercium polisi dan akibatnya ia ditangkap oleh 17 biro FBI. Sekutu satu-satunya ialah pengacaranya, Charlie Jaffey (Idris Elba) yang berusaha untuk membersihkan namanya dan menandakan bahwa permainannya tidaklah ilegal.
